In meeting the needs of our customers and employees, we strive at all times to provide our products in a way that respects the dignity of all individuals including persons with disabilities.

We will use reasonable efforts to ensure that our policies, practices and procedures are consistent with the principles of dignity, independence, integration and equal opportunity by:

  • Ensuring that all customers receive the same value and quality;
  • Allowing customers/employees with disabilities to do things in their own way and at their own pace when accessing goods and services, as long as this does not present a safety risk;
  • Using alternative methods when possible to ensure that customers with disabilities have access to the same services, in the same place and in a similar manner;
  • Taking into account individual needs when providing goods and services; and
  • Communicating in a manner that takes into account the customer’s disability.

We will ensure that our administrative and production facilities are accessible to people with disabilities.

Persons with disabilities may bring their service animals onto the premises.

Any person with a disability who is accompanied by a support person is allowed to enter the premises.

As part of our health and safety program regular facility audits are performed to ensure accessibility and a safe work environment

In order to ensure equal treatment, all our customer service representatives and administrators are trained on policies, practices and procedures with respect to our commitment to people with disabilities.

Metaplast is committed to working towards full compliance with current standards of the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR) Policy, Regulation 191/11, under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA);
In doing so, we affirm our commitment to providing quality services in a manner that respects the dignity and independence of persons with disabilities.
Metaplast AODA Multi-Year Accessibility Plan outlines the policies, achievements and actions that Metaplast have taken and the work underway to improve opportunities for people with disabilities. The current plan covers a five-year period (2019-2024), to align with our plan.
Metaplast is committed to develop, implement and maintain policies that govern how the organization achieves or will achieve accessibility though meeting this Regulation. To facilitate this commitment, Metaplast has established, maintained and documented a multi-year accessibility plan, that is reviewed and updated at least once every five years to identify progress made in addressing barriers and will be posted on our website and internal bulletin board.
